Lead River Guide and Rafting Program Director
St. Elias Alpine Guides/Copper Oar Rafting
 St. Elias Alpine Guides is closely affiliated with Copper Oar Rafting - based together out of the same building in the tiny town of McCarthy.
In addition to raft guides, Copper Oar is looking for a lead river guide with a minimum of 5 years of commercial guiding experience to fill the position of Lead River Guide and Rafting Program Director. This position includes a lot of time on the river, including leading at least 4 multi-day trips throughout the summer. Other duties include keeping the rafting gear organized and clean, supervising river guides, and working with the owners and other managers to create and maintain systems for gear maintenance, food purchasing and anything else relating to the rafting program as well as developing new itineraries and products to expand our offerings.
As well as extensive raft guiding experience, applicants for the Lead River Guide/Rafting Program Director position must be organized, outgoing and self-motivated. Management experience is a plus.
The Rafting Program Director position requires a 3-season committment, due to the time spent learning our rivers and systems. A seasonal salaried position is possible for the right candidate.
