Carleton
Lane claims the title of resident gear-head at St. Elias Alpine Guides.
Although he still retains elements of his old-school climbing background,
Carleton often spends hours each week pouring over the newest gear
catalogues. The result: he knows his climbing gear and what it can
do for him and for his clients. Carleton has been playing outside
for as long as he can remember and has lead people in the outdoors
since the year 2000 as a raft guide, trail crew supervisor, backpacking guide and
glacier and ice-climbing guide. He enjoys showing people the ropes,
whether they be literal ropes hanging from a vertical ice face, crampon
techniques for enjoying a stroll on the Root Glacier or historical
vignettes as he wanders through the mining buildings of Kennecott.
When he's not guiding, Carleton hikes, climbs, whitewater kayaks,
mountain bikes, and basically enjoys just about any sport involving
helmets.
Carleton also leads rafting trips through our partner company, Copper Oar. |
