Charles
 |
Growing up in Connecticut, Charles has a lot of experience in New England wilderness areas in all seasons. He has spent a lot of time backpacking through the Adirondack and White Mountains, as well as climbing rock and ice throughout the east. At University in New York, Charles worked as an outdoor educator teaching climbing, backpacking, boating, winter camping and skiing. Since then he has climbed extensively throughout the Western U.S., Canada, Alaska, New Zealand and South Africa. Other than McCarthy, Charles has most recently made his home Jackson, Wyoming, where he spends most of his time ski touring. At St. Elias Alpine Guides, Charles enjoys guiding every type of trip offered, whether it is hiking through the valleys, teaching alpine climbing techniques, or expedition climbing in the larger Alaskan mountains. He is a certified Wilderness First Responder and an Individual Member of the American Mountain Guides Association.
